Founded in 1997, the Tennessee Gas Association Scholarship Program was established by the Tennessee Gas Association (TGA) to provide financial assistance to the children of employees who are TGA members seeking higher education and residing in the State of Tennessee. The TGA Board created the Tennessee Gas Association Scholarship Foundation and, in 2012, the Foundation was granted 501(c)3 status under the Internal Revenue Code making gifts tax-deductible.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Tennessee Gas Association (TGA) Scholarship Foundation is to provide financial assistance to the children of employees who are TGA members, seeking higher education and reside in the State of Tennessee.

Vision Statement

The vision of the Tennessee Gas Association Scholarship Foundation is to improve the opportunities to secure a quality higher education for qualified children of TGA member employees through dynamic fundraising efforts.

The TGA Scholarship Foundation annually awards four scholarships each in the amount of $3,000 named for John H. Ward, Leslie B. Enoch, ll, Dwight S. Work and Daniel C. Hicks. Based on available funds, additional scholarships are awarded in the amount of $2,000 each. Beginning in 2022, the Foundation will award up to 4 - $500 scholarships to TGA Member Employees seeking a degree. Funding for these scholarships is collected throughout the year from golf and fishing tournaments, and silent auctions as well as donations from individuals, foundations and business partners.

Fundraising efforts are ongoing and your consideration of a gift to the Foundation would be greatly appreciated. The students receiving these scholarships are very grateful and are involved in studies of various fields such as nursing, computer science, physical therapy, pre-medicine, engineering technology and more.
